Phillip Edwin York, son of Ernest Jefferson and Alma Myrtle (Anderson) York, was born on March 14, 1941 in Stilwell, and departed this life to be with our Lord on March 2, 2018 in Stilwell at the age of 76 years.
He worked hard to provide for his family and retired after 40 plus years in 2006 from Tyson (formerly known as Hudson). He enjoyed car auctions, drag racing, long drives through the country to see beautiful foliage. He attended Stilwell Assembly of God Church where he was a board member for over 30 years. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He served his country proudly in the United States Army after joining with his cousin Gene Thomas.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and Alma Anderson brothers; Jack Anthony Fourkiller and Paul York.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his children; Anthony York and wife Imogene of Stilwell, Sharon Lynn York and partner of Westville, Timothy Edward York and wife Vickie of Watts, James Darren York and partner Len Reed of Prairie Grove, Ark., grandchildren; Brandon Michael Turner, Keni Leann Turner, Logan Samuel Turner, Melanie Childress and husband John, Timothy Ryan York, Jamie Pathkiller and husband Jimmy, Ronnie Pollard and Mick Pollard and wife Sarah, adopted grandchildren, Valerie, Sarah and Jessica Pritchett. Great-grandchildren Remy Westmoreland, Leela Childress, Zhain Childress, Elijah Childress, Ethan and Kaitlynn Craig, Rylee and Jace Pathkiller, Bayleigh and Brenleigh Pollard, little brother, Barney McClendon and wife Nita, special friend Jo, several other relatives and many, many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Roberts/Reed- Culver Chapel with Bro. Roger Baker officiating.
Interment followed at Reese Cemetery Stilwell, under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
