Billie Rex Galyean, son of Samuel Edward and Opal Elizabeth (Mayes) Galyean, was born on November 20, 1933 in Proctor, Oklahoma and departed this life on Tuesday, November 14,2017 In Westville, Oklahoma at 83 years of age.
Bill & Katie were married May 21, 1955 and made their home in Tulsa, OK.
Bill worked as a machinist at Sun Oil Co. from 1955 to 1972. He moved to
Westville, OK and worked at Hampton's Feed Store from 1972 to 1974. He saved
his money to build a barn on his farm and a couple of years later added
laying houses. He operated the dairy and laying houses until 1998.
In 1999 he went to work for Westville Public Schools in the Special
Education Department. He was in charge of taking the students to the Vo-Tech
and watching after them. His students were very special to him. A little
later he served juice at lunch and breaks. If the kids didn't have money for
their juice, he saw to it that every kid got a juice.
He retired from school in 2009. He enjoyed traveling with Katie and spending
time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Opal Galyean,
sister-in-law: Wynona Galyean.
Bill is survived by wife: Katie Galyean, of the home near Westville, OK,
children: Russell Galyean and wife Judy, Cheryl McDonald and husband Johnny,
Bradley Galyean, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Sam Galyean, Brent
Galyean, Aimee Vaughn and husband Cody, Ryleigh Galyean, Jaylen Vaughn,
Kaisen Vaughn, Declan Vaughn, Tanner Galyean, Taylor Galyean, Tucker Galyean,
all of Westville, Tiffany Carroll, Tavian Steward, T.K. Pitts, Daelen Pitts,
Tytan Lewis, all of Broken Arrow, OK, Kyle Carroll, Kayden Carroll, K'Lynn
Carroll of Lubbock, TX, brother: Bob Galyean of Westville, OK and many other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, OK with Bro.
Scott Latta officiating.
Interment followed at Proctor Cemetery, Proctor, Oklahoma.
