Naomi Ruth Akin was bom October 24, 1934 to Zemrie "Cot" and Arzella Faye Neale in Westville, OK and departed this life to be with our Lord on June 14, 2015 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 20 days.

She married the love of her life Reford Akin on June 6, 1952 and to this union 3 children were born; Caron, Cleve, and Cliff.

Ruth was a beautician for several years then helped run a family owned trucking company after that. She loved cooking, crocheting, and working puzzles. She also loved to travel in earlier years when her health was good. She and Reford took each of their grandchildren on a great vacation all over the U.S.

She as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who adored her family. She was also devoted to her church and enjoyed visiting other churches.

Ruth was preceded in death by her father and mother, Cot and Faye Neale, her husband of 52 years Reford, one son; Cleve and sister in law Geneva Burnett.

She leaves to mourn her passing one brother, Gerald Neale and wife Mary Ellen of Tulsa, OK, one daughter; Caron Meridith and husband David of Stilwell, OK, one son Cliff Akin and wife Julie of Westville, OK, 9 grandchildren: Bryan Meridith and wife Melanie, Jeremy Meridith and wife Kristin all of Westville, OK, Emily Thacker and husband Douglas of Los Alamos, N.M., Joshua Akin of Grand Junction, Co, Sam Akin and wife Stephanie of Muldrow, OK, Jessica Akin of Westville, Ok. Nick and Stephanie Petty of Centerton, AR, Mark and Melissa Petty of Prairie Grove, AR, Nikki Turner of Fayetteville, AR, 15 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Funeral services at 10 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Roberts/Reed- Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Proctor Cemetery, Proctor, OK.
