Jerry (Boss) Wayne Daugherty was born on March 4, 1953, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Snow Daugherty and Winnie Mae (Soap) Daugherty and departed this life on May 16, 2012.

Boss was married to Jessie (Cunningham) Daugherty on June 9, 1972. They made their home on "Oak Ridge Mountain" in Stilwell and enjoyed 39 years, 11 months and 7 days of marriage. They were blessed with three children, one son, Ray Bearfoot Daugherty, two daughters, Winnie Starlight (Daugherty) Catcher and Winter Fawn (Daugherty) Norman.

Boss was a Christian example to family, friends and all who knew him. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. He loved his pastor and church family. He was a dedicated prayer warrior for others.

Boss loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was his "Jessie's Best Friend", a "Daddy" to his children, and "Pa" to his grandchildren.

Boss worked for Peterson's Industries for twenty-seven years being forced to medically retire. He lived on a "God-given" machine which began May 24, 2001. Dialysis was three days a week, four to four and a half hours each treatment. He was always thankful for God's extension to his life. Life is precious and lasting memories were made.

Boss was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Baby Boy Daugherty in infancy and Martin Daugherty.

He is survived by his "Best Friend" and loving wife "His Jessie" of their home on Oak Ridge Mountain, one son, Ray Bearfoot Daugherty and wife, Kim, of Stilwell, OK, two daughters, Winnie Starlight (Daugherty) Catcher and husband, Will, of Stilwell, OK and Winter Fawn (Daugherty) Norman and husband, Jason, of Fort Polk, LA, nine grandchildren, Sunny Skyhawk Daugherty, Jessica Winterstar Daugherty, Jerri Renae Daugherty and Nancy Alaska Dawn Daugherty, Jeffrey Daniel Horn, Lydia Mae-Star Daugherty Horn and Jason Allen Horn, all of Stilwell, OK, Austin Snow and Autumn Rain Norman, of Fort Polk, LA, one brother, Johnny Daugherty and wife, Chris, five sisters, Lizzie Flynn and husband, Tom, Emma Eagle and husband, Lawrence, Neoma Cochran, Lou Ann Eagle and husband, Stoney and Doris Canoe and husband, Richard, all of Stilwell, OK and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Haney, Bro. Mike Stanley, Dr. Bill Cook and Bro. Jackie Bob Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Nancy Pritchett Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
