Johnny Ray Vann
April 5, 1933 - March 19, 2006
Johnny Ray Vann, the son of John Vann and Ora Jones Vann, was born April 5, 1933 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life March 19, 2006 at his home in Bunch, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 15 days.
While in Kansas, Johnny was married to Nona Williams in 1957. He was a skilled welder who spent most of his life in the Stilwell area. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Theresa Vann, one great grandson Caden Crow.
Surviving family includes his wife of 49 years, Nona Vann, of the home in Bunch; two sons: Johnny Ray Vann, Jr., and Stephen Vann, both of Bunch; two daughters: Carolyn Hayden of Stilwell and Deidra Wells of Springdale, one brother: Jack Vann and his wife, Paula, of Nicut Community. Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive him.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Pastor Max Ford officiating.
Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Nona Kay (Williams) Vann © The Stilwell Democrat Journal March 2011 Submitted by: Martha Real Nona Kay (Williams) Vann, daughter of Stephen Burk and Rosa (Charles) Williams, was born on June 29, 1941, in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on March 27, 2011, at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 28 days.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Johnny Vann, sister, Lovenia Kuykendall, daughter, Theresa Wilson, two great grandchildren, Kayden Don Crow and Lillian Grace Hignite.She is survived by, two sons, Johnny Ray, Jr. and Stephen Vann; two daughters, Carolyn Hayden and Deidra Pearson; five sisters, Jessie Jackson, Rachel Sidebottom, Liz Farmer, Juanita Arnold, and Wanda Farrington; one brother, Johnny Williams; five grandchildren, Brian and Daniel Hignite, Seth Crow, Samantha and Desiree Hamby, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Pastor Max Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
