Donald James
Sparling, son of Alfred Clifford and Etha Frances (Yoder) Sparling, was
born on February 26, 1938 in Sequim, Washington and departed this life
surrounded by family on January 6, 2020 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at 81
years of age.
He was
blessed with his loving wife of almost 50 years, Patsy (Hunter) Sparling
and his four children: Jim, Josie, Melissa and Charlotte.
Donald worked
hard for his family, traveling the country as a truck driver. He enjoyed
life, the outdoors, his family and friends. Donald had an infectious
smile and laugh. He was a joy to be around. He was a true friend to all
who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Donald was
preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Etha Sparling, sister:
Bonnie Scott.
He leaves a
loving and devoted family to keep his memory. They include his wife:
Patsy Sparling of the home near Stilwell, OK, children: Jim Sparling of
Wenatchee, WA, Josie McFarland and husband Bo of Whitney, TX, Melissa
Ray and husband Shaggy of Susanville, CA, Charlotte Wiegert and husband
Charles of Lewisville, TX, sister: Byllee Semken of Ohio, 13
grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other relatives and
friends.
Funeral
services were held at 1 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020 at
Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Chaplain Terry Wofford
officiating.
