Harold Hunter along with his twin brother Farold Hunter, was born July 29, 1927 in Stilwell, OK, the sons of Albert B. and Addie Ruth (Kelley) Hunter. Harold departed this life on December 19, 2015 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 20 days.

He married the love of his life; Vernie Foster on December 24, 1952 in Stilwell, OK and to this union 1 daughter; Anita Ruth was born. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Preston DD-795 for more than 9 years before being honorable discharged.

Harold worked in Tulsa at Wolferman's and Petty's Fine Foods for several years and retired in 1981 to move back to Stilwell to take care of his farm and cattle, which he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed cutting wood for his use in the winter months.

Harold was very proud of all his family. He enjoyed very much getting together and visiting with all of them. He especially enjoyed the family reunions. He attended church at the Holiness Mission while his health permitted.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Leroy "Sonny" Hunter, James"J.W." Hunter, Arthur "Slim" Hunter and Jack Hunter, five sisters; Hazel Thompson, Mary Featherston, Florence Bateman, Betty Conger, Maxine Getman.

Harold is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of nearly 63 years; Vernie Hunter of the home, daughter; Anita Ruth Salsman and husband Roy of Stilwell, Ok, his twin brother; Farold Hunter of Islip, NY, sister; Velta Warner of Tulsa, OK. 2 sisters in law; Wanda Faye Foster of Davenport, OK, Golda Kelley Watts and husband Clint of Tulsa, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.

Graveside services at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Kevien Sisco officiating. Interment follows under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
