Thelma Lorene (Carver) Foster, 63-year-old Vinita resident passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Pryor. Thelma was born in Salina, Okla., on January 9, 1948 to Jesse Lawrence and Lorene Marie (Benham) Carver.
She was married to Ira Norman Foster, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, playing cards, fishing and spending time with her family.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sonja Dixon and husband Travis of Pryor; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristopher, Kenneth, Kassey and Kelsey Kannmore; two great-grandchildren: brothers and sisters, Deborah K. Patrick of Vinita, Darrell R. Carver of Vinita, Jo Ann Taylor of Laredo, Texas, Danny W. Carver of Vinita, and Ernest Carver of Kingman, Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, from 5-7 p.m., in the Burckhalter Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, at 11 a.m., in the Burckhalter Funeral Chapel, Vinita, with Nancy Lawson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Phillips Family Cemetery in Westville, Okla.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home, Vinita.
