Mellie Long, daughter of James M. and Ola Mae (Parker) Workman was born September 19, 1937 in Evansville, AR and departed this life on June 16, 2015 in Stilwell, Ok at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 29 days.
She enjoyed the duties that followed her role of being a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; James and Ola Workman, her husband; Luther Long and sister; Wilma Matthews.
Mellie is survived by a very loving family that includes her sons; Larry Long and Pete Long and wife Leslie all of Stilwell, Ok, 7 grandchildren; Hank Long and wife Amanda, Amanda Jones and husband Jimmy, Roy Long and wife Maranda all of Stilwell, OK, Brandon Long and wife Haley, Nicole Long all of Elkins, AR, Thomas Long and wife Jessica, Devin Long all of Stilwell, OK. Great grandchildren; Shaelynn Jones, Kyler Jones, Alissa Jones, Cayden Long, Conner Long, Bentley Long, Mallory Long, Drake Long, Taylon Long, Alivia Long and Blake Cobb, 2 sisters; Glenda Dunavant of Bon Aqua, TN, and Barbara Hartman of Nashville, TN, a special aunt and friend; Ellen Cummins, several other relatives and many, many friends also survive her.
Funeral services at 2 pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Roberts/Reed- Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Jimmy Jones officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Stilwell, OK
