Rose Ellen (Conner) Hembree , the daughter of Joseph William and Flossie (Carpenter) Conner was born May 8, 1929 in Lake City, Kansas and departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on May 2, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 24 days.
Rose married Monroe Hembree on February 5, 1955 and to this union two children were born: James Monroe Hembree and Cheryl Hembree Lester. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Rose and Monroe joined the First Baptist Church in 1964. She was a devout Christian lady and she loved her church family as her own. She wasn’t afraid of hard work and she enjoyed working in her flower garden and the Oak Grove Odds ‘N’ Ends shop. Rose touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters Wilma Hittle and Maurine Fillmore.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband of over 63 years Monroe Hembree of the home; her children James Monroe Hembree and wife Margie of Stilwell and Cheryl Lester and husband Howard of Fayetteville; three grandchildren Kerri Wolf and husband Tim of Stilwell, Joshua Hembree and wife Kendel of Stilwell and Dennis Lester and wife Kaylee of Powell, MO; four great grandchildren Whitley Wolf, Chase Wolf, Kenzie Hembree and Kolbey Hembree; and one great-great grandson Ruger James Hembree. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survived her.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Brunk officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak
Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
