Cherokee Alpha (Adair) Cooper
June 11, 1915 - June 13, 2006

Cherokee Alpha (Adair) Cooper was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma, June 11, 1915, the first born of Samuel Wilson and Sarah Ellen (Hancock) Adair, and departed this life June 13, 2006 in Grove, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years and 1 day.

Cherry was married to Virgil E. Cooper of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were married in the Bingham Freewill Baptist Church.
They made their home in the same Tulsa community.
This home was blessed with four wonderful children; Delores Ann, Virgil Elton, Samantha Suzan and David Adair Cooper.

Cherry was preceded in death by her youngest son, David who was a highly decorated soldier of the Vietnam War. Among his honors were two purple hearts.
Preceding her also were her parents and one sister, Margaret Osbon and her only brother Russel Adair.

Cherry is survived by her three children, eight grand children, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and four sisters; Leola Lovett of Stilwell, Joe and Mary De Armon of Morris, OK, Lorene Childers of Jenks, OK, Carl and Pat Denton of Okmulgee, OK, and sister-in-law Carolyn Adair of Stilwell.
"To Know Cherry Was To Love Her", she will remain in our hearts forever.

Graveside services were held at Oak Grove Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on June 15, 2006, with Bro. Joe White and Bro. Terry Tatum officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed Culver Funeral Home in Stilwell, OK.
