Doyle “Frank” Jones, son of James Graland and Grace (Drewry) Jones, was born on February 18, 1933 in Snowball, Arkansas and passed from this life on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.
Frank served our country proudly during the Korean War. He married Lorine on March 24, 1953 and they were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Frank worked in construction as a cement finisher. They lived in California from 1953 to 1969, when they moved to Grove, Oklahoma and in 1979 they moved to Broken Arrow. Upon retiring, Frank and Lorine traveled to every state except Alaska and Hawaii. He attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, he was ordained in the Freewill Baptist Church in 1960 in Antioch, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Grace Jones, brothers: Garvin, J.G., Gerald, Paul, Bill and George.
He is survived by his wife: Lorine of the home in Broken Arrow, OK, daughter: Frances Miller and husband John of Oologah, OK, grandsons: Justin and wife Angie of Halsey, OR, Jeremy and wife Amanda of Tulsa, OK, great granddaughters: Kali and Kyndal of Halsey, OR and another great granddaughter that is due in March 2014, sister: Arizona Penland of Muskogee, OK, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, Oklahoma with Rev. Tommy Penland officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery, Westville, Oklahoma.
