Opal Clinton, the daughter of Albert and Hattie (Walker) Vanbibber, was born December 25, 1930, in the Chewey Community of Adair County, Oklahoma. On December 17, 2013, she passed peacefully from this life, at the Stilwell Nursing Home, at the age of 82.
In 1949, Opal married Luie Wilson Clinton in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and to this union was born nine children. They lived most of their lives in the Adair County area but also moved to Missouri and Colorado for a few years. Opal and Luie enjoyed 37 years together until his passing in 1986, in Siloam Springs, AR.
Opal worked as a health care provider for many years and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking. But most of all, she loved raising her family.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hattie Vanbibber, her beloved husband, Luie Clinton, daughter, Barbara Jean Clinton, three sons, David Luie Clinton, Bobby Dean Clinton and Darryl Ray Clinton, and brother, Donald Reed.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Wilma and Gary Siebert, of Dewey; Roger and Norma Clinton, Larry Clinton, all of Westville; John Clinton, Jerry and Teresa Clinton, all of Stilwell; foster son, Glen Ray Benoit; sister, Maggie Williams, of Bartlesville; brother, Leonard Ray Patton, of Westville, 21 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
