Funeral services for Phillip Yingst, age 54, of Stilwell, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carney Duncan and Rev. John Gonzales, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at McLemore Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Phillip Dwayne Yingst, son of Joe Yingst and Gwen Martin Ensley, was born on December 18, 1955, in Springdale, Arkansas and went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2010, at the age of 54 years, 2 months and 15 days.
Phillip was a resident of Stilwell for the last ten years. Phillip began his career as a truck driver at an early age, driving for his grandfather and from there worked for various trucking companies. His dream was to one day be an owner operator and that dream came true in the year of 2009 when he bought his own truck. Phillip enjoyed sports especially watching OU football games, fishing and gardening. He looked forward every year to camping out during deer season with his deer hunting buddies.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joe Yingst and Gwen Ensley. He leaves to mourn his wife of 10 years, Denise Gonzales Yingst, of the home; two sisters, Helen Irven and husband, Dale, of Springdale, AR and Morena Glur, of Springdale, AR; two special nephews, Ricky Joe Smith and family, of Farmington, AR, Kevin Wayne Gonzales and family, of Stilwell, OK; two special nieces, Skylar Smith, of Farmington, AR and Daysha Leann Hawk, of Tahlequah, OK. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive him.
Denise Gonzales Yingst, daughter of Andy and Odie (Scraper) Gonzales was born July 23, 1962 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on April 25, 2011 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 2 days.
Denise was a lifelong resident of Stilwell and attended Dahlonegah Grade School, Stilwell High School and Northeastern State University. She enjoyed watching TV, watching sports, gardening, canning, vacationing and seeing new places. Denise was a devoted daughter, loving sister and wonderful aunt. Her family and friends were the joy of her life. She was employed by the Keetoowah Tribe for 5 years, where she had friends that she cherished. Denise was also a member of the Fairfield Baptist Church.
Denise was preceded in death by her father; Andy Gonzales, grandparents, Jone “John” and Eliza Gonzales; French and Jennie Scraper, and her best friend and companion of 10 years; Phillip Yingst.
Denise leaves behind to mourn her passing, her mother; Odie Gonzales of Stilwell, OK, 3 sisters; Janice Avila and husband Alonso Avila of Stilwell, OK, Patricia Hawk of Tahlequah, OK, and Betty Scraper of Park Hill, OK, 1 brother; Frankie Gonzales and wife Velma of Stilwell, OK, Niece, Rachael Hawk of Tahlequah, OK, Nephews; Rodney Hawk and wife Jessica of Oklahoma City, OK, Kevin Gonzales, Eric Gonzales both of Stilwell, OK, great nieces; Whitley Hawk of Wisconsin, Taylor and Shelby Hawk of Oklahoma City, OK, Daysha Hawk of Tahlequah, OK, Kayle Gonzales of Stilwell, OK, Alayla Delonia of Glenpool, OK, Nohaleigh Locke Gonzales of Stilwell, OK, Starla Duncan, Kirsten Garrett, great nephews; Tevin “Washi” Gonzales of Sperry, OK, Kraven Gonzales of West Siloam Springs, OK and Athan Duncan. Many other friends and family members too numerous to name also survive her.
