Shirley Gorton
November 8, 1928 - August 29, 2006
Graveside services for Shirley Gorten, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Kirk-Robinson Cemetery with Bro. Jim Sparks officiating.
Burial was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Shirley Alice Gorton was born November 8, 1928 in New Hyde Park, New York to Clifton Marsh and Jessie (Hasting) Marsh and departed this life August 29, 2006 at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 21 days.
On February 16, 1946, Shirley was married to Robert Gorton at a Methodist church in Monticello, New York.
Their union was blessed with three sons, Robert Jr., Richard and Clifton.
Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, one son, Robert Andrew Gorton Jr., and one sister, Wilma.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 60 years, Robert Andrew Gorton, of the home; two sons, Richard Allen Gorton, of Tulsa, OK., and Clifton Raymond Gorton, of the home; one half-brother, Clifton March (or Marsh?) Jr., of California; one half-sister, Wendy Marsh (or March ?), of California, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous family and friends.
Note; There could be a spelling error on either her half bro or half sisters last name. It is listed in the paper as Clifton March Jr. and Wendy Marsh.
