Dickie Ray Sam, the son of Littlejohn and Mary Ella Sam, was born on February 17, 1967 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 52 years and 6 months.
 

He married the love of his life, Grindelia Vizuet, on December 18, 1998. Dickie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He loved to watch football. He played in All-State Football games for Cave Springs as a nose-guard. Dickie never met a stranger. He had many friends. He was a graduate of Cave Springs High School Class of 1989.

Dickie gave his life to the Lord at an early age at Chuculate Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching his children grow into adults. He loved telling stories and joking around. Dickie

worked at Tyson Foods before his health failed him. He will be dearly remembered by all.


Dickie was preceded in death by his parents: Littlejohn and Mary Ella (Livers) Sam, sister: Laura Faye Sam.
 

A loving and devoted family survives him. They include his wife: Grindelia Sam, children: Dulce Sam, Marie Sam and David Sam, all of the home near Stilwell, brothers: Larry Livers and companion Margie Bolin of Stilwell, Rickie Sam and wife Shelley of Stilwell, sisters: Vicki Pettit and husband Wilson of Sallisaw, Ella Pettit and husband Bill of Stilwell, Tammie Pettit and husband Bob of Bunch, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
 

A wake will be held at the homeplace in Lyons Switch on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 3 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019
