Edwin “Sonny” Williams, the son of Raymond Bertron Williams and Leaetta (Sawney) Deason, was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on August 12, 1944. On November 14, 2012, he passed from this life in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 68 years, three months and two days.
Sonny grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School. He then graduated from NSU, receiving a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Sonny worked as a computer operator for Ford Glass Company for many years. He enjoyed flying and obtained his private pilot’s license. He also enjoyed hunting and always had a boat for fishing. Sonny loved his nieces, nephews and other children and always brought them candy.
He was a UAW member and a UKB member, serving as chairman of the election board for several years. Sonny attended Church by the River in Haskell.
Preceding him in death were, his parents and several aunts and uncles. His surviving family includes, four brothers, Billy Jack Beason, of Stilwell, Jimmy Lee Beason, of Tulsa, Greg Williams and wife, Linda, of Broken Arrow, Charles Deason and wife, Michelle, of Tahlequah; four sisters, Ramona Williams, of Wagoner, Ernestine Berry and husband, Don, of Park Hill, Eldine Stevens and husband, Lee, of Haskell and Rebecca Zarrabi, of Tulsa; and one aunt, Elleta Quinton, of Tahlequah. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Hart Memorial Chapel with John Moats officiating.
Interment will follow at Honey Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
