Bush “Towhead” Unger, Jr. was born October 2, 1940 to Bonnie Watkins Unger and Bush Unger, Sr. He departed this life on May 30, 2014 at the age of 73 years, 7 months, 28 days.
Towhead was married to Elender Hadlow Unger until her passing. To this union was born 5 children: Carl Unger, Shirley Bunch, Debbie Witham, Tommy Unger and Garland Unger. Towhead worked for Adair County District 2 for many, many years as a road grader until his retirement. In his spare time he loved to trade horses, cows and anything else he could get a hold of. Towhead also loved spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Elender, parents: Bonnie and Bush, daughter: Debbie Witham, son: Michael Harper and his companion: Fannie “Elsie” Unger, brothers: Charlie Unger, Garland Unger, George Unger, sisters: Margie Goldman, Helen Eli, Maxine Unger, Lenora Workman, Irene Russell and sons-in-law: Norman Wayne Bunch and Robert Witham.
He is survived by his sons: Carl Unger and wife Jimmie, Tommy Unger and wife Stacy, Garland Unger and wife Kathy, daughter: Shirley Bunch, step daughter: Jackie Fuson and husband Charles, all of Stilwell, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, brothers: Jim Unger of Stilwell, Todd Unger and wife Virginia of Stilwell, sister: Atha Jean Stephenson and husband James of Stilwell, several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends also survive him.
Graveside services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Honey Hill Cemetery with Bro. Glenn Hopkins officiating. Burial was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
