Jo Ann Smith, daughter of Roger and Nancy (Sawney) Cochran, was born on January 3, 1936 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 18, 2013 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years and 15 days.
Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always had a smile for those around her and all were welcome at her house. Jo Ann enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents: Roger and Nancy Cochran, brother: Tom Cochran, sister: Sally Terrapin, son: Monroe Eagle and daughter: Ruby Eagle.
She is survived by a loving family that includes her sons: Tommy Eagle and wife Laura of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Jerry Eagle and wife Freda of Stilwell, daughters: Betty Nofire and husband Eugene of Stilwell, Celia Smith of Tahlequah, 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, brothers: Charlie Cochran and Andy Cochran of Stilwell, J.D. Cochran of Tahlequah, sister: Lizzie Teehee of Stilwell.
Jo Ann is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services at 10 am on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with D.J. McCarter officiating.
 
Interment at Honey Hill Cemetery.
