Peggy Jefferson passed away October 13, 2014 at the age of 74 in Placer County, California. Peggy was born on August 26, 1940 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and was a member of the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
She loved and was a faithful member to her Church of God family. Peggy lived in San Francisco for over 50 years and worked for Bank of America for over 20 years as an Associate Systems Engineer.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Raphael Jefferson. They were married December 1, 1961 for 35 years until his death on May 13, 1996.
Peggy is survived by her son, William Warren Jefferson of San Francisco, California; daughter Rebecca Nell Jefferson Avila of South San Francisco, California; son in law Ramon Avila of South San Francisco, California; grandsons Ramon Philip Avila of South San Francisco, Andrew Raphael Marcos Avila of South San Francisco; brother Robert Shell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sisters Lula Lavalette of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Charlotte Blakemore of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Peggy had 30 nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents Charlie and Nellie Shell, brothers William Shell, Steve Shell, Dave Shell, Ross Shell, Toss Shell, and sister Nancy Shell.
Services will be at Driscoll's Valencia Street Serra Mortuary in San Francisco, California on October 21, 2014 from 4pm to 9pm. Services will also be held in Stilwell Oklahoma at Roberts Reed-Culver Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2pm. The burial will follow at Fourkiller Cemetery, Stilwell Oklahoma.
