Obituary – William Thurman - Westville Record - March 17, 1944
Funeral service was held Monday afternoon from the Roberts Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Roy B. Smith, pastor of the local Baptist church, for William (Bill) Thurman, who died at his home northwest of town Saturday, March 11th Although he had recently suffered an attack of influenza, his death was sudden.
Born at Viney Grove, Arkansas, 76 years ago, [Aug. 20,1869] he had been a resident of this community fifty years. [parents – William M. Thurman & Martha Ann Brownlee Thurman]
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ken MILLS of Drumright and Mrs. Jack MARTIN of Westville; one son, Fines THURMAN of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepsons, John KIRK of Westville and Wid KIRK of Tulsa; one sister and two brothers, and several grandchildren.
Burial was made in the Foreman cemetery west of town.
