Ronald Dean
Rider, the son of Sam and Polly (Leach) Rider, was born November 7, 1957, in
Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on November 7, 2019, in Tulsa,
Oklahoma at 62 years of age.
Ronald loved
life, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved being
outdoors whether he was on Lake Tenkiller fishing or enjoying fellowship at
a PowWow. He was a regular at the annual Strawberry Festival and tried to
make many traditions and memories with his family. He enjoyed watching
wrestling and OU football. Ronald was very proud of his Indian Heritage and
tried to instill his values into his children and grandchildren. His family
meant the most to him, and he loved them with all of his heart. Ronald
touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew
and loved him.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Kenneth Rider, Sam Rider Jr.,
and Julius Dan Rider; and his sister Margaret Welty.
He is survived
by a loving family which includes his wife Katherine Rider of the home; his
children Ron Rider Jr. of Tulsa, Wynema Hamilton of Stillwater, Edward Pratt
of Stillwater, Rhonda Rider of Oklahoma City and Samuel Rider of Stillwater;
his sister Theresa Rider of Vian, Sally Shell of Gore, Richard Rider of
Welch, Joann Rider of Tulsa and Evelyn Rider of Skiatook; 17 grandchildren
and 3 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other
relatives also survive him.
Funeral
services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Hart
Memorial Chapel with Bro. Leo Duncan officiating.
Interment will follow at
Rider Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Online condolences
