Funeral services for Louella Duck-Gonzalis will be held on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Cherry Tree Baptist Church in Stilwell, OK with Pastor David Mink officiating.

A Wake Service will be held at her residence on Monday, January 18th, 2016 from 2:00 PM until services on Tuesday. Interment will be held at Feathers Cemetery in Stilwell, OK.

Online condolences for her family may be left at Reed Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Louella include Michael Hawk, Christopher Hawk, Cornelius Castro, Derek Hawk, Chris Bunch and Calvin Duck. Her grandsons will serve as her honorary pallbearers.

Louella Duck- Gonzalis was born on November 2nd, 1941, in Stilwell, OK, the daughter of Cornelius Duck and Lizzie Bearpaw. She attended school at Flaming Rainbow and received her Bachelor's of Science. She worked her entire career at Dahlonegah School, serving in various capacities as Teachers Aide and Cook. She married her husband, Bob Gonzalis, and together they raised three children, Bobby Joe, Gary Wayne, and Betty Jo. Louella was not one to let the grass grow beneath her feet. She was always busy. She was a talented seamstress, making numerous blankets. She served as a foster grandparent, and loved every child she met, touching their lives with her love and the kindness of her heart. She was constantly doing Cherokee Studies, prayer walks, puzzle books, and flea markets, collecting memorabilia and solar powered sun dancers. She was kind, thoughtful of others, and especially kind with the children at Dahlonegah. She was a friend to every child, giving them the extra time and attention to make better people of them. She was never too busy to share a joke, or make you laugh with her wonderful sense of humor. She was always happy to have her children and grandchildren around, and treated them to her famous dumplings, dressing, noodles and knuche! She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Cherry Tree Baptist Church and the WMU Louella was a strong prayer warrior, who loved the Lord and dedicated her life to helping others. The Lord called this kind and loving servant home from her labors on January 14th, 2016 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 74 years old. She will be greatly missed, and leaves a vacancy that will never be filled.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2011, her grandson, Eric Gonzales, sisters Susie Riddle and Leta Mae Hawk and her brother, Sid Duck. She also leaves her sister-in-laws, Annabelle Duck, Louann Soap, and Becky Doublehead.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Bobby Joe Gonzales and wife Marilyn of St.Louis, MO, Gary Wayne Gonzales and Opal Daugherty of Stilwell, Ok, and Betty Jo Gonzalis of the home in Stilwell. She leaves two brothers and four sisters,Tex Duck, George Duck and companion Debbie Scraper , Osie Castro and husband Gabriel, Jennie Duck, Martha Salinas and companion Bill Young, and Dora Duck all of Stilwell, OK. She leaves 16 grandchildren, Aretha Bullock and husband Nick of Houston, TX, Evelyn Gonzales of Tulsa, Robert Ray Gonzales and wife Kristie of Ark Port, NY, Bobby Michael Gonzales and wife Stephanie of Kingston, WA, Jonathan Gonzales and Cathy Steeley of Stilwell, Steven Gonzales of Stilwell, Christina Gonzales of St. Louis, Kandace Gonzales and companion Tyler Markart of Stilwell, Mikah Gonzales of the home, Tierra Simmons, and Shannon Simmons of St. Louis, Timothy Squirrel of Stilwell, Robert Squirrel and Stacy of Stilwell, Kimberly Wilhite and Jimmy of Stilwell, Terra Eli and husband Mike of Stilwell, Lisa Vann of Stilwell, and great grandchildren, Caleb and Adien Bullock of Houston , TX, Mila Gonzales and Danilo Gonzales of Washington, and Charlotte Gonzales of St. Louis, MO, and step grandchildren, Kaylin Eli, Winter Vann, Emily Vann, Dakota Orman, and step grandchildren, Kordell Cheater, Jacob Cheater, and Alyssa Cheater. She leaves her sisters-in-law, Lucinda Duck, Raydean and James McReynolds, Nan Diver, Lorene Diver, Marie Diver, and brother- in-law, Ted Gonzalis, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
