Mark Jim Smith was born June 22, 1965 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Noble Dexter and Dorothy Alice (Sellers) Smith. He passed from this life on March 26, 2016 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 50 years.
Mark was a lifelong resident of Stilwell and worked in the retail lumber business. He was married to Mary Smith in Van Buren, Arkansas on January 15, 1999.
Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, working on cars, woodworking, whittling and the outdoors He was a legend in his family and with all those who knew him for his ability and love of catching snakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Dorothy Sellers Smith Huestis, one brother, Ronnie Smith, and one sister, Linda Louella Smith.
He leaves behind, his wife of 17 years, Mary Smith, of the home; children, Ruby Smith, of Tahlequah, Stephanie and husband, Robby Latta, of Stilwell, Jessica Smith, of Stilwell, Cody Smith and wife, Megan, of Stilwell, Nick Smith and wife, Jaycie, of Tahlequah and an honorary daughter, Bessie White; brothers, Tim Smith and wife, Teresa, Gary Smith and Rick Smith, all of Stilwell; sisters, Debbie Cothren, of Stilwell and Lillian Henderson, of Tampa, FL and six grandchildren, whom he adored.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Glenn Hopkins officiating. Interment followed at Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
