William S. “Bill” Ross, son of Kennie and Lectie (Brown) Ross was born September 22, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on March 29, 2012 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 7 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister; Wilma Buckner.
He was a member of the Pleasant View Church of Christ in Stilwell. He also loved the outdoors especially deer hunting and was an avid horseback rider and loved going on trail rides. He also enjoyed fixing up old cars and would come to town for cruise night. He was a school bus driver for many years and he drove for several area schools including Maryetta, Stilwell and the Indian Capital Technology Center. He was most proud of his family and really enjoyed spending time with them.
Bill is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife Barbara Ross of the home in Stilwell, OK, 2 children; Saundra Cooksey of Summers, AR, Jason Ross and wife Lundie of Stilwell, OK, 4 grandchildren; Kourtney Cooksey, Kyle Cooksey both of Summers, AR, Macie Ross and Hayden Ross both of Stilwell, OK. 2 sisters; Sue Wilson and husband Doyle of Cookson, OK, and Shirley Eldridge and husband Robert of Amarillo, TX, 1 brother in law; Gerald Buckner of Stilwell, Ok several other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Robert Eldridge officiating.Interment followed at Elm Grove Cemetery.
