Lectie Bell Denny
January 6, 1922 - January 2, 2006
Lectie Bell Denny was born January 6, 1922 in Adair County, Oklahoma to Sylvester Scott Brown and Zella Mae, Dooley Brown. She departed this life January 2, 2006 at her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Lectie was a wonderful seamstress and quilt maker. She worked at Adair County Orchard and enjoyed time spent outside working in her garden.
She was a member of Baron Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands, Kennie Ross in 1981 and Hugo Denny in 1999; three brothers: Hershel, J. L. and Fred Brown; one daughter: Wilam Mae Buckner; one grandson: Dennis Wilson and one great grandson, Robbie White.
Surviving family includes one son, Bill Ross and wife Barbara of Stilwell; two daughters, Sue Wilson and husband Doyle of Cookson, Shirley Eldridge and husband Robert of Stilwell; one son-in-law, Gerald Buckner of Stilwell; two brothers, Phillip Brown, Paul Brown and wife Carol, all of Stilwell, five sisters, Viola Ross and husband, Edward of Claremore, Pearl Isham of Peculiar, MO., Naomi Brown, Reba Wilson and husband Darrell, Vestie Mays and husband Bob, all of Stilwell; nine grandchildren 24 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Jim Brown officiating. Interment followed at Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
