Lennie Mae Adair Gonzales
May 10, 1942 - January 20, 2010
Lennie Mae Adair Gonzales was born May 10, 1942, in Adair County, Oklahoma to John and Lillie Hummingbird. She departed this life January 20, 2010, at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 10 days.
Lennie was a lifelong resident of Stilwell and Rocky Mountain Community. She was a member of Echota Baptist Church, then later attended Vann Baptist Church where she played the piano. She also was a Sunday School teacher in the children's department. Lennie was an excellent piano player. She didn't need any notes to help her, she just played and did well. Lennie worked at Peterson's Industries in Decatur, Arkansas years ago then later worked at Stilwell Foods. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and she knew that they loved her. She often spoke of her youngest son, Randy, and how she missed him, but knew that she would see him again. She's waiting on the rest of us, her Randy, Clifford, Granny, Grandpa, Jim, Grandma Jensie and everyone else.
She was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, a infant sister, Ruby, her son, Randall, her nephew, Clifford Blackbird, four uncles and five aunts.
Lennie is survived by two children, Roger Adair and Cara Proctor; two brothers, Luke and Jimmy, all of Stilwell, OK; her sister, Annie Marshall, of Eufaula, OK; her aunt, Sally Ketcher, also of Stilwell, OK, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three nephews, two nieces, four great nephews, two great nieces and numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Services were held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Echota Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Leach and Bro. Ellis Foster officiating. Interment followed at Echota Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
