John Hueland Jones, son of Lawrence and Winnie C. (Tally) Jones, was born on November 4, 1933 in Muhlenberg, Kentucky and passed from this life on Monday, June 13, 2011 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 9 days.
John served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and in Indochina. He was an Aviation Engineer and Mechanic. John retired from the Air Force after a military career that included many citations, commendations and decorations. He was also a dedicated member of the Flint Lodge # 11 in Stilwell. John will be remembered as a hard worker, loving father and good friend.
Preceding John in death were his parents: Lawrence and Winnie Jones, numerous brothers and sisters in Paducah, Ky.
John is survived by his daughter: Janet Pruitt and husband James of Stilwell, OK, grandchildren: Joshua Dean Knight (currently serving with the U.S. Armed Forces in Iraq) and wife Janet of Stilwell, Christopher Knight of Lawton, OK, great grand children: Brendan, Brittany, Travis and Ryan Knight of Tahlequah, OK, Dillon Knight of Lawton, step daughter: Terri McClain and husband Richard of Texas and Tina Jones Lowe of Arkansas, who looked upon him as her father too, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Kevin Davis officiating. Interment followed at Ewing Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
