Ruth E. (Workman) Brown, daughter of Blaine and Kindless (Ex) Workman, was born on January 15, 1925 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 26 days.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Stilwell. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and raising cattle. She was known for her coconut cream pies. Everyone was welcome to eat at her table.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years: Bill Brown, her parents: Blaine and Kindless Workman, brothers: Alvis, Dan, Johnnie, Curtis and Charley Workman.
Ruth is survived by her daughter: Billie Morris of Stilwell, granddaughters: Sonja Spray and husband Jim of Stilwell, Kimberly Glass and husband Rick of Rogers, AR, great grandchildren: Ashley Glass, Brandy and Spencer Spray, brother: Ed Workman of Stilwell, sisters: Rosie Brown of Stilwell, Lucinda Driskill of Oregon, Hazel Limberg of Alma, AR, Retha Jones of Inola, OK, Margaret Isaacs of Stilwell. Many other relatives and friends survive Ruth.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Paul Andrews officiating. Interment followed at Ewing Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
