Lawrence Morris
November 17, 1924 - February 4, 2006

Funeral services for Lawrence Morris were held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Bro. Jim Beavers officiating. Burial was in the Downing Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Walter Lawrence Morris, son of Oceola Morris and Dora (Oxford) Morris, was born November 17, 1924 in Watts, Oklahoma and was raised in the Baron Community. He departed this life February 4, 2006 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 17 days.

On December 12, 1944, he was married to Frances Stansil in Westville. He worked for Baldor Electric and was a member of Baron Baptist Church.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Frances, who passed on April 21, 2005; his parents, Oceola and Dora (Oxford) Morris; six brothers, Thomas, Babe, Mitchell, Benton, Curtis and Pete Morris; two sisters, Sadie Eads and Beulah Hood; two grandsons, Steven Morris and Tom Hensley and one great grandson, Dakota Crisp.

He is survived by one son, Arnold Dean Morris of Kansas, OK; five daughters, Florine Hensley, of Stilwell, Dianne Wheeler of Westville, Phyllis Phillips of Stilwell, Jeanne Crisp of Westville, Becky Clark of Westville, one sister, Neil Dean Stickles of Collinsville, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
