Lydia Young, the daughter of Sam and Adeline (Bunch) Doublehead, was born  May 28, 1926 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.


Lydia was a lady who prided herself in always taking care of people, and one of her greatest joys was being a grandma.  She worked as a line worker at CNI until her retirement. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, playing solitaire, and watching her soap operas. She enjoyed sitting on the porch with her coffee in hand and visiting with family. Lydia was an avid OU and Thunder fan who faithfully watched all the games of her favorite teams. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Adeline Doublehead; 1 infant daughter; sisters Janna  Daugherty and Dorothy Gonzales: and 2 infant sisters; brothers, Denton, Hiner, and Charlie Doublehead; granddaughter Kimberly Jo Young and great grandchildren Cameron Bunch and Kristin Duncan.
 

Lydia leaves behind a loving family which includes, her son Billy Joe Young of Stilwell; sisters Carolyn Claphan of Stilwell and Emmaline Teehee of Weatherford, TX; brothers John Doublehead and Adam Jo Doublehead of Stilwell; 4 grandchildren, Clayton Duncan of Clarksville, TN, Carlene Fourkiller and husband Bryan of Siloam Springs, AR, Amanda Bunch and husband Christopher of Norman, OK and Lydia Ann Rodriguez of Stilwell, OK and 10 great grandchildren. Numerous friends and family also survive her.
 

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at New Life Church with Bro. John Flute officiating. 

Interment followed at Doublehead Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home.
