Dorothy Marie (Morton) (Lyles) Doublehead

Dorothy Marie Lyles Doublehead, daughter of Arthur Otto and Hester Beanstick Morton was born on October 18, 1933 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life to be with her Lord on August 27, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 85 years of age.
Dorothy grew up in the Zion community, attending Zion Elementary and graduating from Stilwell High School. After high school, she attended and graduated from St. Anne’s School of Nursing in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Over the years, she worked as a nurse in Hot Springs, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee. However, her happiest years of nursing were the years spent at the Taylor Medical Clinic, of Stilwell. She dearly loved her patients and coworkers there. She loved her family and particularly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Ott and Hester, her husband, William E. Lyles, her children; twin infant sons Ronnie and Donnie Lyles, Steven Ray Lyles, LaDonna Gail Lyles Littledeer and Brian Lyles, her brother Tommy Ray Morton and his wife Pixie Ann Ketcher Morton Cain.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, John Doublehead of the home; stepchildren Glenn Doublehead and Donna Gray, daughter-in-law Sharon Lyles of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren Margaret Prescott Flynn and husband Sammy, Rebecca Littledeer, Vincent Lee Doublehead and wife Tara, Vanessa Rae Johnson and husband Brandon C. Johnson - all of Stilwell; Andrea Lyles and Tracy Lyles of Conway, Arkansas; Great-grandchildren Cecelia Prescott, Sky Ray Flynn and Madison Flynn, Aiyana Reyes, Kylan Maddox Doublehead, KaHeaven Edith Doublehead, Kaelynn Renee Johnson and Raelynn Denae Johnson - all of Stilwell; two nieces: Patricia Morton Winkler and husband John, Radena Morton Rutherford - all of Stilwell, several cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. David Mink officiating.Interment followed in the Doublehead Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Home.
