Mrs. Melinda BUZZARD, resident of Route 1, Jay, Okla., and a former resident of Watts, Okla., died at 4:05 a.m. Saturday in a Tahlequah, Okla., hospital after an extended illness.
She was born May 9, 1914 at Watts and had spent her entire life in this area. She was a member of the Indian Baptist Church at Chewey, Okla.
Survivors include one son, William J. BUZZARD, Jay, Okla.; three daughters, Miss Juanita BUZZARD, and Mrs. Edna JONES, both of Jay, Mrs. Eileen PATHKILLER, Watts; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George MOUNCE, Watts; two brothers, Willard MOUNCE, Maysville, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Rose WILEY of Watts, Mrs. Betsy WHITMIRE and Mrs. Emma MANNING both of Westville, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mrs. BUZZARD was held at 2:30 Monday in the Chewey Indian Baptist church with Rev. Bud LACIE officiating.
Burial was in the Crittenden Cemetery under the direction of the Pyeatte Funeral Service
