Linda Lee Hummingbird
November 18, 1944 - September 7, 2009
Linda Lee Hummingbird of Oaks, Oklahoma went to meet her Lord on Monday, September 7, 2009, at Tahlequah City Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was born on November 18, 1944, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Sanford Caughman and Sybil Beanstick Caughman.
Linda married Nathaniel “Sonny” Hummingbird on March 12, 1962, in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. She lived most of her life in Oaks, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed family, friends, bird watching, growing flowers and working crossword puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her father, Sanford Caughman, one brother, Jim Caughman and two step grandsons, David Gudde and Joseph Denny.
She is survived by her mother Sybil Caughman, of Tahlequah, OK; her husband, Nathaniel “Sonny” Hummingbird, of the home; six sons, Jeffery “Damon” Hummingbird and wife, Kathy, of Springtown, AR, Derek Hummingbird, of the home, Darren Hummingbird, of Colcord, OK, Drew Hummingbird and wife, Tammy, of the home, Dion Hummingbird, of the home and Dustin Hummingbird, of the home; four step-grandchildren, Thomas Denny, of Springtown, AR, Casey Gudde, of Colcord, OK, Xaviar Ward, of the home and Isaac Foreman, of Westville, OK; three sisters, Sandra Girdner, of Caney Ridge, OK, Gwin Thomas, of Oklahoma City, OK and Kay Thurston, of Vaughn, AR; one brother, Jerry Caughman and wife, Carol Anne, of Denver, CO and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Donnie Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Clear Springs Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
