David Wayne Vann, 63, died Friday February 27th, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David was born March 2nd, 1951 to Dutch and Edith (Sawney) Vann.

David graduated from Sequoyah High School and continuedhis education at Flaming Rainbow University, where he received a degree in Behavioral Science. He was employed for several years at Flaming Rainbow in the Graphics & Publication Department, later working at Stilwell Foods before relocating to California where he attended school for Auto Mechanics, and even later working as a home health provider when he returned to Oklahoma.

David stood 4 feet, 11in tall but his kindness and love for others made him a giant among men, with a smile on his face and generosity in his heart. David was always helping anyone that needed it, and never said no to anyone that asked. A man of many talents he also enjoyed arts and crafts; making knife handles and key chains to be sold at pow wows where he would have a booth set up with the same friends each time. David was a loving father, brother, uncle, and grandpa. David accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior many years ago at Vann Baptist Church.

David was preceded in death by his parents Dutch and Edith Vann, as well as, his paternal grandparents Emma Killer and White Vann, and his maternal grandparents Joe and Ollie Sawney.

David is survived by his son, Jackie Christie, three brothers, Eugene Vann of Stilwell, Ronny Vann and wife Marta of Welling, Sammie "Snow" Vann and wife Mae of Stilwell; four sisters, Dora Watie, Reba Jones and husband Bobby, Betty Sue Scott and husband Joe, and Brenda Vann, all of Stilwell. Also three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, fourteen nieces and nephews, fourteen great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, and a special friend Lucy (Farrell) Vann. David also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Gil Hooper and Bro. Ronny Vann officiating. Interment followed at Chulio Cemetery, Stilwell, OK.
