Oscar Marland Chulio
March 10, 1935 - August 8, 2006
Oscar Marland Chulio, the son of John W. Chulio and Sallie Silk Chulio Hummingbird and step-father, Dan Hummingbird.He was born March 10, 1935 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with his Lord on August 8, 2006 in Roland, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 29 days.Oscar was loved by many, he enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones.
He will be remembered for his love for fishing and picking up aluminum cans along the roadways of the Cherry Tree Community.
All who knew Oscar, shared in his love for jisting and laughter.
During Oscar's later years, he was a resident of the Muldrow and Roland Nursing Homes, where he made many friends, and where he truly felt at home.
Oscar was unable to attend church in his later years; however, he still praised the Lord and continued to be a prayer warrior. Oscar will be missed by many.Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, twin infants, great-nephews, and 2 infant sisters.He is survived by 1 sister, Janis Sawney and husband Jim Sawney of Muldrow, Oklahoma, 1 niece; Shelly Black and husband Preston Black of Stilwell, Oklahoma. 2 nephews; Roger Dale Sisco, Jr. and wife Tracy of Roland, Oklahoma, Jimmy Lee Sawney and wife Renee of Muldrow, Oklahoma. 4 great-nieces; Sophie, Madison, Briana, Jurney and one great nephew,Brent Gregg. Many relatives and friends also survive him.Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at the Cherry Tree Baptist Church with Bro. Vernon Stone officiating.
Interment followed in the Chulio Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
