Mamie Marie Sawney-Garcia
March 22, 1949-September 7, 2008

Mamie Marie (Sawney) Garcia, the daughter of Richard and Sarah (Springwater) Sawney was born March 22, 1949 in Stilwell, OK and departed this life on September 7, 2008 in Tulsa, OK., at the age of 59 years, 5 months and 16 days.

Mamie was a very generous and compassionate person. She had a great sense of humor and made friends everywhere she went. Mamie was a very loving and supportive mother and sister. Her emphasis on family and being there for each other was a quality she treasured. The joy of the Lord was her strength, and she demonstrated that strength every day of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents; Levi and Polly Springwater, 2 brothers; Jackie Lee Sawney and Robert Lee Wolfe, 1 sister; Sandra Hogner.

She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Lana Rivera and husband Bernard of Puerto Rico, Jackie Kester of Tulsa, OK, 2 granddaughters; Tessa and Alicia Rivera of Puerto Rico, 3 sisters; Linda Fourkiller and husband Samuel, Nina, Cindy and Wanda Wolfe all of Tulsa, OK., uncle and aunts; Tosley and Sadie Springwater and Leona Sawney Moten all of Stilwell, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many frineds also survive her.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Don Tiger officiating.
Interment followed in the Chuculate Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
