Dortha Maybelline (Self) Dale, age 93, of Westville, Oklahoma, died on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
 

She was born on June 14, 1924 in Waldron, Arkansas to Lark and Callie Freda (Newborn) Self. She graduated in 1942 from Westville High School. She married Wester Floyd Dale on June 14, 1942. Maybelline operated a laundry for several years in Westville, owned by her and Wes Dale. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Westville. Her passion was quilting and sewing. Maybelline is known as “The Quilt Maker.” She made countless baby quilts and regular quilts for anyone, as far away as California, Oregon (all over). She pieced, appliqued and quilted them mostly by hand.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lark and Callie Self, her husband: Wes Dale, daughters: Peggy (Dale) Bullock and Sherry (Dale) Trembly, a granddaughter: Stephanie Ann (Dale) Miller, grandsons: Jeffery Kent Dale and Wester Bradley Dale.
 

She leaves behind a loving and devoted family that includes her children: Donald “Doc” Dale of Westville, Joe Dale and wife Penny of Kansas City, Allen Dale and wife Nelda of Shawnee, Kan., John Dale of Westville, Georgia Cox of Broken Arrow, Geneva Lafoon of Tonapa, Arizona, Carolyn Foster and husband Harold of Merriam, Kan., Ellen Gibbins and husband Dave of Las Vegas, Nev., Anita Stanfill and husband James of Colcord, 41 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, with B.J. Craig officiating.

Interment will follow at Chalk Bluff Cemetery, Stilwell. Arrangements by Roberts & Hart Funeral Home, Westville.
