Dina Mae Shook
July 4, 1914 - July 2, 2007
Dina Mae Shook daughter of Edd Girdner and Martha Jane Mays was born July 4, 1914 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life July 2, 2007 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, two days before her 93rd birthday.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed the duties that followed her role as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Dina Mae was a faithful member of Bunch Baptist Church for over 40 years while her health permitted. Some of her favorite hobbies were gardening, canning, and crocheting.
Dina was preceded in death by her parents; Ed and Martha Jane (Mays) Girdner, her husband; Denver Clay Shook, 1 son; Joe Clay Shook, 3 brothers; Reid, Johnnie and Bill Girdner, and 1 sister; Julie Melrose.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes 1 son; Robert Shook and wife Janice of Kinta, OK, 3 daughters; Joyce Latta and husband John, Jean Shobert both of Stilwell, OK, Wanda Poteet and husband Haskell of Tahlequah, OK, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, 2007 in the Bunch Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Latta and Bro. Mike Newberry officiating.
Interment followed at the Bunch Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
