Mrs. Jane Woods - Westville, Okla., November 18, 1938
Mrs. T. C. Woods, [Sarah Jane Thurman Woods] age 69, prominent lady of this section, died at her home a mile north of town Wednesday morning after a several months illness with heart trouble. The Woods family are among the most prominent and most widely known families of this part of the state, having for years been leading stock raisers and stock dealers.

Funeral service for Mrs. Jane Woods, 69 years old, wife of Cal Woods, and mother of Tom, Jim and Lloyd Woods, widely known stock dealers, who died Tuesday night at her home one mile north of Westville, after a long illness, was held Thursday afternoon at the Roberts Funeral chapel with Rev. Leonard Stewart, Baptist minister of Stilwell and Rev. Arthur Smith, Seminole, former pastor of the local Pentecostal Holiness church, officiating. Burial was in the Baptist Mission cemetery north of here.

Mrs. Woods was born at Prairie Grove. She was married to Cal Woods 54 years ago. For 50 years she had lived near Westville, She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include the husband; five sons, Tom and Jim Woods of the home; Lloyd and Oliver, Westville, Forrest Woods, California; five daughters, Mrs. Stella Langley, Mrs. Nellie Buffington, Mrs. Kate Morris, Mrs. Minnie Russell, all of Westville, and Mrs. Elsie Marshall of the home; twenty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, other relatives and a large host of friends. A brother, Bill Thurman lives near here.

Several out of town people were here Thursday to attend the funeral of Mrs. T. C. Woods. Mrs. Laura Choea of St. Louis and Mrs. Jim Butner and daughter of Wewoka were visiting at the T. C. Woods home Friday.
