Eldee Walker
July 18, 1937 - January 2, 2009
U.S. Veteran Eldee Walker was born July 18, 1937, in Chewey, Oklahoma to Sherman F. Walker and Opal (Mounce) Walker. He passed from this life on January 2, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Eldee was a lifelong resident of Adair County and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1955-1959. On May 30, 2003, he was married to Sue Colston in Miami, Oklahoma. Eldee worked as a truck driver for Tyson Feed Mill in Westville. He was a member of Bethel Holiness Church in Westville. His many hobbies included woodworking, welding and building anything. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids and loved music and playing the drums.
His parents and two brothers, Donald and Dale Walker preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sue Walker, of the home in Westville; four sons, Russell Walker, of Bunch, Terry Stanley, of Westville, Tommy Stanley, of Dutch Mills, AR and Travis Stanley, of Lincoln, AR; two daughters, Debra Lamb, of Watts and Shellie Fletcher, of Westville; five brothers, James Walker, Buster Walker and Tommy Walker, all of Kansas City, MO, Mitchell Walker, of Lowery, OK and Chris Walker, of Stilwell; five sisters, Glinda Walker, of Branson, MO, Shirley Atkin, of Stilwell, Fran Joyce, of Peggs, Maggie Stanley, of Westville and Pam Rounsville, of Tahlequah, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Old Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
