Richard Leon Rye was born January 26, 1955, in Hensley, Arkansas to Lenard and Frances (Juhl) Rye and went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2009, at his home in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 4 days.
Richard was a member of Christie Southern Baptist Church in Christie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lenard and one brother, Eric.
His surviving family includes his companion of 14 years, Elnore Hubbard; his mother, Frances, of Westville; three daughters, Melissa Patterson, of New Orleans, LA, Jerri Rye, and Kelli Rye, of Gentry, AR; four sisters, Joyce Montzouranis, of Eagle Point, OR, Donna Faye Rye, of Springfield, MO, Debra Kinzer, of Beggs and Carol Watson, of Westville; five brothers, Ray Rye, of Pawhuska, Ralph Rye and wife, of Elkins, AR, Donald Rye and wife, of West Siloam Springs, OK, Ronald Rye and wife, of Rogers, AR, Darrel Rye and wife, of Montezuma, GA and lots of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bill Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Old Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
