Funeral service for Mrs. Alice Mae Morris Jordan, 76, who died at her home on north William Street Thursday, November 29, after a long illness, was conducted from the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Friday afternoon with Rev. Jimmy Smith, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Baptist Mission Cemetery north of town with the Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, directing arrangements.
A quartette composed of Mrs. Ora Whitmire, Mrs. Frank Moss, Guy Bare and George Guthrie, sang three songs. Bearers included Dennis Bushyhead, Pete Simmons, Calvin Phillips, John McCuistion, Ad Cabe and Tom Still.
Mrs. Jordon was born August 22, 1874. She was united in marriage to J.D. Jordan, May 9, 1889.
Survivors include five sons, Bert of Westville, Henry of Tahlequah, Bruce of Tahlequah, Claude of Westville and Melvin of Oklahoma City; five daughters, Mrs. Fannie Adams, Westville, Mrs. Fairy Smith, Oklahoma City, Mable Antriken, Oklahoma City, Sevola Lamons, Tahlequah, Lola Mae Wendell, Los Angeles, California; one brother, D.R. [T. R.] Morris, Watts; 29 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
She has been a member of the Baptist Mission since 1889.
