Leonard Gregory Eagleton
October 21, 1963-March 8, 2010
Leonard Gregory Eagleton was born October 21, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to J.D. Eagleton and Wilma Lorraine Howard Eagleton. He was the youngest of three children. He passed from this life on Monday, March 8, 2010, at the age of 46 years, 4 months and 17 days.
Greg grew up in the Westville area and was of the Holiness faith. He graduated from Westville High School in 1981. He married his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Lee Chadwell Huffaker, on December 12, 1987. They were married for 22 years and made their home in the Westville area. Greg was employed at Schwan’s in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He also enjoyed helping his father-in-law, Joe, work on the family farm. Greg was known for his pranks and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved life, enjoyed making others laugh, and was seldom in a bad mood. He was an avid OU fan and wore their colors proudly. In his opinion, if you weren’t an OU fan, you should leave the state. Greg was also proud of his Chevy trucks and did not believe in selling any, just adding to his collection. Greg was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. His presence will be greatly missed. Greg was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Eagleton, and his grandparents, Leonard Howard, Harvey and Vada Howard Reed, Elmer and Marie Eagleton, and brothers-in-law, Jerry Chadwell and Thomas Rothrock.
Greg is survived by his wife, Kim Eagleton, of the home; his mother, Wilma Reed and husband, Ronald, of Westville; sister, Debra Wilson and husband, Jay, of Cornelius, NC; brother, Dwayne Eagleton and wife, Tammy, of Westville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Charline Huffaker, of Lincoln, AR; sisters-in-law, Carri Chandler, of Springdale, AR, Jody Combs and husband, Terry, of Sierra Vista, AZ and Joy Huffaker, of Prairie Grove, AR and a very special group of nieces and nephews that he adored, Cody Shephard, of Lincoln, AR, Laci Leigh Herndon, of Fayetteville, AR, Brad and Deidra Eagleton, of Westville, OK, Madison Rothrock, of Prairie Grove, AR, Kyle and Kory Wilson, of Cornelius, NC and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Bro. Ronald Reed and Bro. Navil Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at Old Baptist Mission Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
