Jim Joe Mitchell, the son of Dennis Mitchell and Danna (Gritts) Mitchell, was born November 20, 1938, in Red Oak, Oklahoma. He departed this life November 2, 2011, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 12 days.
Jim served his country in the U.S. Army. He was with Nancy Scott and they endured 26 years. He was a self employed mechanic who enjoyed hunting, fishing and horse back riding.
Those preceding Jim in death include his parents and two brothers, Tom and Frank Mitchell. He leaves behind, his wife, Nancy Blankenship Mitchell, of Watts; sons, Jimmy David Mitchell, of Texas, Jimmy Ray Mitchell, Timothy Joe Mitchell and Mitchell Duane Turner, all of Watts; daughters, Pam Freitas, of Texas, Jodi Mitchell Smith and Tiffany Ann Mitchell, both of Watts; stepson, Jimmy Albert Blankenship, of Texas; brothers, Billy Mitchell and John Mitchell, of Oklahoma and Jack Mitchell, of Texas, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Beaver officiating.

Interment will follow at Bell Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
