Daylight Owl son of Daniel Lee Sr and Lizzie (Vann) Owl was born January 23, 1933 in Adair County, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 28, 2018 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 5 days.

He had a great love for his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and spent many hours reading his Cherokee Bible. He also served as Deacon at Beaver Baptist Church. Daylight worked at the Greasy Peach Orchard for many years and in sanitation at Stilwell Foods for 33 years to provide for his family.

He loved listening to Gospel Cherokee music but most of all he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He had a great love for his dog Jack.


Daylight was preceded in death by his parents; Daniel Sr. and Lizzie Owl, wife; Ora Owl, son; David Owl and daughter; Katie Owl, infant grandson; David Owl, granddaughter; Amber Kee and great grandson; Hunter McKillop, siblings; Joe Owl, Sam Owl, Woodall Owl Sr, Sam Lewis Owl, Steven Owl ,Mary Waters,  Nancy Bunch, Peggy Williams and Nellie Pettit.
 

Survivors include his children; Abraham Owl and wife Polly, Levi Owl and companion Joyce Littlejohn all of Stilwell, OK, Retha Owl and companion David Welch of Bunch, OK, Melanie Owl of the home in Stilwell, OK, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild. Brother; Daniel Lee Owl Jr of Muskogee, OK, sister; Lucille Owl ofBunch, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
 

Funeral services were held, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Donnie Sanders Officiating.

Interment followed in the Hickory Vann Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
