Graveside services for Leonard Bryce Adair will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Alva Municipal Cemetery with Bill David Walker officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with the family at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

Leonard Bryce Adair, son of the late Madison Bates and Lois (Keller) Adair, was born July 18, 1925, on the family homestead north of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and passed away April 9, 2023, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 21 days.

Bryce attended school through the eighth grade at Piney and graduated from Stilwell High School in 1940. On July 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Province at Medicine Lodge, Kansas. They made their home in Alva where he worked as a counter salesman at a machine shop. He also helped Harry Kline rebuild his antique cars and enjoyed working on engines. Bryce enjoyed gardening and yardwork. He was member of the College Hill Church of Christ.

Besides his parents and his wife, Wilma, of 73 years, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Adair; four sisters, an infant sister (twin of Jack), Juanita Owens, Jean Englander and Leola Harmon.

Bryce is survived by four children, Bryce Eugene Adair and wife, Jane, of Waynoka, Helen Faye Hall of Alva, Steven Patrick Adair and wife, Misty, of Alva, and Alan Jay Adair and wife, Lori, of Waynoka; a brother, Bob Adair of Chickasha; a sister, Kay Ferguson Cardwell of Livermore, California; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Adair of Westville.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Matt Adair and wife, Kasey, of Alva, Adam Adair and wife, Amy, of Enid, Shannon Wood and husband, Tyler, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Lori Pearson Tatro and husband, Troy, of Wichita, Kansas, Shelby Adair of Alva, Lindy Simunek and husband, Kody, of Blackwell, Austin Adair of Alva, and Alten Jake Adair of Waynoka; three step-grandchildren, Wyatt Crouch and fiancee, Britney Cunningham, of Avard, Bridgitte Crouch of Alva, and Weston Crouch of Alva; 17 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Homestead.
