Evelyn McKee Alexander was born November 26, 1914 on the family farm southwest of Dill City to Robert Frank McKee and Verda (Haggard) McKee. She passed from this life on July 23, 2002 at the age of 88.

Evelyn grew up on the McKee farm with her brother George Everett. She graduated from Dill City High School and attended college at Southwestern State College in Weatherford and Panhandle, she met her future husband, Gerald Moody Alexander. They were united in marriage on July 2, 1936. For the next 12 years they lived in the Texas pandhandle while Gerald worked for the Soil Conservation Service. In 1946 they moved to Cordell, where they raised their two children, Que Quita born December 28, 1942 and Gerry Mac born July 24, 1949.

Evelyn worked for the Washita County Election Board from December 1957 until her retirement in 1977. She enjoyed and was involved with many social activities including a sority, bridge club and a variety of community events.

During their retirement, Evelyn and Gerald enjoyed many traveling adventures. They liked going on group bus tours and taking their travel trailer on road trips. She would tell many stories of the places they had been in the United States and Canada.

During the Oklahoma winters Evelyn and Gerald would take their travel trailer to Harligen, TX and stay on the coast until late spring. While in south Texas, she made many friends and became an active participant in organizing many social events for the guests and residents of the travel park.

Evelyn loved life and lived everyday to the fullest. She always could find something good in everybody and always found the bright side of bad situations. Eveylen will best be remembered for her good nature, smile and her daring sense of fashion. And of course, her family will remember all of her efforts in the kitchen.

Evelyn will go on living in the hearts of all who knew her. She will join in heaven, her parents, Verda and Frank, her brother George Everett, he husband Gerald Moody and her daughter Que Quita.

She is surivived by her son Gerry Mac, daughter-in-law Karen Alexander, son-in- law Curtis Reinke, her grandchildren Kirk Reinke, Karol Shepard, Nicole Alexander-Brasuell and Tony Alexander and one great-grandchild Mattison Shepard.

Services were under the direction of Jack Loftiss Funeral Home.
