Sue (Goodwin) Kamphaus

Sue Kamphaus was born November 20, 1939 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Mable Wilma and Warren William Goodwin. She passed away August 7, 2015 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 17 days.

Sue grew up in Burns Flat, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in 1958. She went on to beauty school in Enid, Oklahoma and after graduating she returned to Burns Flat. Sue was married to Hubert Lee Kamphaus at the St. Francis Catholic Church near Canute, Oklahoma on March 1, 1960. They lived in the Foss community for a few years before moving to Canute where she operated Sue's Beauty Shop for many years, she later worked at Elk City Junior High. Sue and Hubert later moved to the Kamphaus homeplace southwest of Foss to make their home. She loved to make flower arrangements for her family and friends. Sue was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 infant children, Paula Sue, Phillip Lee and Gregory Lyn.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert Kamphaus, of the home; 3 children, Angela Marie Peil and husband, Mitchell, Follett, TX, Richard Lee Kamphaus and wife, Kathleen, Whitesboro, TX, Jennifer N. Fransen and husband, Todd, Elk City, OK; 6 grandchildren, Kara and Corey Peil, Sarah and Hannah Kamphaus, Alex and Jarod Fransen, a brother, Clifford Goodwin and wife, Daisy, Weatherford, OK; a sister, Gwendolyn Evans and husband, Jerry, Enid, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Prayer Vigil will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the Whinery-Savage Chapel.
