Leo "Frankie" Hohnke was born November 15, 1939 at his parents home in Canute, Oklahoma to Anna B. (Warnke) and Leo C. Hohnke.

He passed away June 25, 2019 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Frankie grew up in the Canute community where he attended school at Holy Family school graduating in 1957. After graduation he continued to help his father, who was in bad health, on the family farm. He met and was married to Rose Marie Hohnke at Holy Family Church in Canute, OK on February 16, 1963. After their marriage they moved to one of the farms that Frankie's family owned and later purchased it where they made their home and raised their family. Frankie was a lifetime farmer and was very meticulous about how his land and cattle were cared for. In the 90's he also served as district 3 county commissioner in Washita county for two consecutive terms. Frankie enjoyed traveling within the United States, going for drives on back roads especially on Sunday's and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Frank Hohnke, Jr., brother, Paul Hohnke, 2 sisters, Lena Setter and Kathy Hohnke and one nephew, John Setter.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie, of the home; 3 children, Brad Hohnke and wife, Mechelle, Foss, OK, Neil Hohnke and wife, Christine, Foss, OK and Linda Hohnke, Burns Flat, OK; 11 grandchildren, Chase, Chad, Hope, Ky, Kobe, Shelby, Taylor, J.D., Jamie, Rhyan and Dylan; 1 great granddaughter, Addie; 1 sister, Betty McRee and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Prayer vigil services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at the Whinery Chapel officiated by Deacon Paul Albert. Mass of Christian

Burial services will be held Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church officiated by Father Thomas Pudota.

Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
